MLB vs. S&P 500 (April 2015 - August 2015)
In continuing the comparison between the MLB and the S&P, final results in August were heavily in favor of sports as the overall S&P had a rough month. Both MLB strategies performed well as contending teams are beginning their playoff pushes.
Below are the results as of the end of August 2015.
Comparison timeframe: April 1, 2015 to August 31, 2015:
MLB Strategy 1: +35.31%*
MLB Strategy 2: +15.36%*
S&P 500: -4.61%** (Comparison)
September is a time when major league teams expand their active rosters from 25 to 40. This affords the guys in the minor leagues an opportunity to showcase their talents on the big stage.
Hopefully, September can be a rebound month for the S&P. The hunt for value is taking place as I type this.
What do you think? Is the S&P poised to make a rebound and close the gap?
